FAQ

Why are Ramp to Rail Features generally more expensive than your competition?

For starters, we build professional park grade features using the latest machinery.  Second, the standard surface material we use is Gatorskins which is significantly more expensive than unfinished sanded plywood or Masonite. You do not need to paint our riding surfaces.

Will you do custom made-to-order features that I design?

Certainly we work to make your vision a reality. We have worked with many individuals to refine even some of our initial offerings. If there comes a time in your life where you cannot learn from one another, you’re cheating your own self.  Drop us a line and let’s discuss and digitize that feature.

What is CNC Manufacturing?

CNC means Computer Numerical Control. This means a computer converts the design produced by Computer Aided Design software (CAD), into numbers. The numbers can be considered to be the coordinates of a graph and they control the movement of the cutter. In Short it means once designed we can reproduce exact replicas with precise measurements. All this leads to simpler and stronger assemblies.

How hard are your kits to build when I receive the shipment?

We have spent hours figuring out how best to create a pro grade flat pack feature that is intuitively simple to assemble. You can almost completely build the entire structure without screws to begin. Once all the members are fitted together, you fill all the predrilled holes with the supplied screws. You can refer to our video blogs for assembly direction on most features.

What Surface goes on the ramp?

Our kits come with the best option available for skatepark features. You are not required to paint it.

Do you also custom build concrete parks?

R2R is focused on mobile wooden structures. At times with custom builds we will float a concrete slab surface for riding and support. On occasion with custom builds we need to infill a complex transition area that is too difficult to surface with wood sheet materials. However we recognize and respect the skilled trades and designers required to properly construct concrete park structures.  Contact Us and we can help steer you in the right direction for these incredible installations.

How Long will my R2R feature last?

With Proper care your ramp should last many years. Like all things exposed to weather it will eventually degrade and require replacement. We have chosen materials that best extend the lifecycle of our products. It is quite obvious when any of the materials we use in the construction of our features are subject to prolonged unfavourable conditions.

How do you manage waste and the environmental aspect of manufacturing with wood?

We make every effort to use FSC certified wood materials. We fabricate from as few building material sources as possible to better achieve this effort. If we are to use a product that does not fall under FSC certification, it is for compelling reasons such as the life cycle of the product far exceeds a FSC certified product that would require frequent replacement or is just not available and requested as part of a R2R feature we supply. We want to supply the first and last material consumed by our feature for its extended useful life.

How long does it take to receive my order?

We are creating large features that inherently have some mass to them. Shipping can be a pricey affair. We deal with a few shipping companies and even try to ship with our own fleet. We also stock products at various shared warehouse locations for our most popular items to help reduce shipping rates. Drop us a line and we can work out the best arrangements.

Do you ship outside of Canada?

We can ship anywhere. Shipping becomes a factor and we are currently trying to understand what our new option going forward given the Covid 19 Pandemic.   International shipping is temporarily on Hold.

Can I buy your ramps from anywhere else?

We have a dealer network of local shops and Distribution Chains. All in an effort to stem rising shipping costs. An order through your local could mean we combine additional stock items at your local. It’s a great way for us all to work together to spread the shipping cost and more efficiently move our product in bulk across Canada and Internationally.  However your local will not have the variety or options available that we offer.
